What's new?

Post by Chickenboy »

Greetings, fellow forumites!

It's been several years since I've been here. My long-standing PBEM against AcePylut was on hold due to life issues, but those issues have mostly resolved. We are re-engaging in our PBEM that has been idle for the better part of two years. It's currently in late June 1943.

As I haven't been on the forum in years, what's the latest scoop in the WiTP:AE world?

There is supposed to be an update coming soon to WITP AE. What this update will change/improve has not been released. I have been holding off for some time for this new release. I am sure it will make some nice improvements to WITP AE

It's a bit slower here than in the past, but it's probably still the most active forum on this whole board. I think a lot of people miss Alfred and his insights. Everyone for the most part is waiting on the patch as joey mentioned.

It looks like the forum has been updated in the last couple years? Am I wrong in observing that the search function on the forum is seemingly functional and useful? :o

When the new forum format was introduced in 2022, everyone hated it. The colors, the fonts, the functionality. The griping seems to have died down. I guess you get used to things. :P

The only people who like change, demand change, and cry if they don't get the change are babies. No matter what their age is!

But I do believe that Matrix did change some things in this new forum due to comments and feedback from the users.

Joey,

I happened upon a post (JWilkerson, I believe?) from 2021 or 2022 that proposed a final version with a request from forumites for 'must have' add-ons and / or scenarios / mods. Is this (in mid-2024) the update of which you speak or is this another iterative 'coming soon' in addition to the one posited back then?

ETA: It was Erik Rutkins' thread which is still stickied on the top of this forum page site. Anybody got the TLDR version of this?

That is the one, it is supposed to be in the final testing by Matrix.

I am sure Matrix has its hands full with all the fixes/changes to the program. I imagine that is why the testing phase is so long. I am hoping for Labor Day of this year. We should start an anchor pool... Five dollars for each time and day. The proceeds could go to charity.
