Definition of Farming: Air Units

Post by ElvisJJonesRambo »

I've got to be one of the biggest "Farming" players, in the history of the game.

The definition of Air Farming, would like get down to the nitty-gritty.

1) Bombers, can always attack anything, any strength > 0
2) Medium Bombers, can always attack anything strength > 0
3) Tactical, same thing, > 0

Now, if the target is strength 0, that is mining.
Air units cannot attack strength 0 cities.

4) Maritime Bombers can only attack a ground unit target, once, for "spotting" reasons, and 2nd attack on known ground target would be considered "Mining", within the same turn. But that being said, in most "soft areas of the board", you know the enemy won't reinforce. The one-attack rule is abusing the curtesy spotting round.

5) Aircraft Carriers in Tactical Mode (haven't thought about mixed), can attack any city that is > 0 strength.

6) Fighters should not attack Cities, MInes, etc. But if Fighter has +1 experience, legally, can they attack that City or Mine if predicted results is 0-1?

What get interesting, is the predicted results.
Say there's a weak city strength 5.
An already experience Attack piece has predicted results of 0-1, should be okay to attack?
But what if there's a 2nd unit, that has predicted result of 0-0, that's bad?

Best Places to Air-Mine:

Japan on China, early in game.
Japan cause Partisans, in order attack them. (this has been countered, by China, disbanding the unit)
British Carriers on Norway MIne.
British anything on Norway Cities
British/USA on France
USA/Japan on many Islands, like that British Mine SW of Tarawa.

Any advancing country: leave a city alone, just to mine with a defensive fighter, clearly this is mining.

Repetitive and deliberate over/over again is mining. Like stalling in UFC

Interesting case: Medium and Tactical units with predictive results of 0-0 on City/Mine considered mining, yet predictive results of 0-1 isn't?

Here's ANOTHER huge move players do (including myself), Use Maritime Bombers against AA-guns. It's cheap to repair, the Maritime for Allies. Attack the water, cause the AA-gun defense. Use, 2nd Maritime Unit, same thing. Then level the City/Port with Strategic Bomber. Gamey, legal, part of life. Maritime Bombers can get lucky "dodge the the entire defensive fire". Nearly everyone does that to Germany to the port coming in from Sweden. It's really the same thing, with killing the German Aircraft Carrier. Use fighters to force the intercepts, then send in Maritime Bombers.

I've used Maritime to spot. Who can attack these weaker unprotected cities?

Who can attack the spotted Cities Caen, Cherbourg, St Malo.

1) Strategic Bomber
2) Medium Bomber
3) Tactical Bomber
4) Carriers with Tactical Bombers

BUT, if the City is strength 0, no more attacks by anyone, right?

Cannot attack:

1) Fighters that are unable to do damage 0-0 predictive results
2) Carriers with Fighters with 0-0 predictive results.
3) Maritime Bombers. Only once, if they have not spotted the weak cities, which really isn't necessary.

***US Airship, treated like Maritime rules.

In this example, anyone can attack Tours, unspotted.

1) Bomber hits Cherbourg, does 2-damage = Legal
2) Tactical hits Cherbourg, does 1-damage = Legal
3) 2nd Tactical unit attack Cherbourg, does 1-damage = Legal

now.......I would normally attack with the Carrier's Tactical, and say that's legal.

Fighters cannot attack, unless predictive odds 0-1.
Maritime same things (which is beyond possible with no-farming rules, would need Elite).
But this logic means Elite's could Mine, very ironic, but?
