Russian Guards Mountain Divs/MG Battalions?

So playing through 1941 the Russian Mountain divisions in WITE 1 used to be able to be become guards.

Are they still allowed to gain guards status in WITE 2?

The reason I ask is I have mountain divisions with 10+ wins in the winter of 1941 not gaining guards status.

From what I can see in the rules they should be allowed to gain guards status so not sure if something in the system isnt working correctly or is date/time locked or something.

As well using the support unit MG battalions they dont seem to gain guard status either at any point. Not sure if that is an error or not as most support units can gain guard status.

It would appear that mountain divisions can no longer receive the guard title after an update granted them the ability to directly attach SUs to them.

Ya based on what Joel just posted and another poster this is an issue from the newer patch.

They should be able to gain guard status and are no longer able to do so, so sounds like it needs fixed in the next patch
