Paddy Power have made a brilliant skit, brilliantly encapsulating what it’s like to be an England fan. Give this a watch - it’s tres funny.

Netherlands 0 France 0

Only four things to note:-

1) The misfiring French...
2) The offside goal that was offside...
3) I can't be bothered to provide a precis of that match....
4) I may have lost the will to live...

Best wishes,
Steve

Some interesting results from tournament so far not about cricket but about football excluding UK:

Croatia&Albania, Italy&Albania, Sloven&Serbia (Which could create new Balkan Wars about territory with these results) Romania&Ukraine, Scotland&Swtizerland, Sloven&Denmark.

Nothing against Slovakia, but really pleased for Ukraine for obvious reasons.
I have somethings against Slovakia that I won't discuss here but people who's ancestors came from countries that were in the old Jugoslavia make a better pastry called potica in Slovenian but orechovník in Slovakian. I have had some of each that were brought to activities that had food served. Delicious . . . :)

Really interesting games today for different reasons. First up it’s perhaps the most interesting of all. If Belgium beat Romania that will be all four teams on 3 points going into the last round of matches. Alternatively, a win for Romania (yes please 🙏) will put Belgium almost certainly out (maybe even definitely). Looking forward to this.

'Nothing against Slovakia, but really pleased for Ukraine for obvious reasons.'

For your information Georgian players first Euro Cup this year. Players Pro European but regime is not. Yet there is no war but match with Czechs important for their national identity as one of the oldest nations.. I'm amazed popular culture didn't reach Britain yet or they they talk with popular terms. ;)

No idea why the need for constant digs. If you care to read, I have already commented positively on Georgia and the fact this is their first major tournament.

Warsprite, I've moderated 10 years of forum I know who is fascist, communist and religious I know the borderlines well. I like your posts but for an advice one should not be identified only with country. Your previous post about Georgia was about a dragoon like English flag. Anyway, Cheers.

Meanwhile, back at the footie, let’s hope for wins for:

Romania aka anyone but Belgium
Georgia or Czech (I don’t mind either)
Turkey aka anyone but Ronaldo and Fernandes

Georgia vs Czech Republic is up first. Georgia have Portugal in the final game. Czech Republic have Turkey. This may the best chance for some points that Georgia has and the Czech Republic really need a win. Hoping for a good game.

Best wishes,
Steve

Not to divide chat between you guys, but I think all is excellent about ref decisions (maybe small favor Germany vs Hungaria; as it was in whole tournaments hosts in the past) But the problem I see in that group 3rd rank can have relatively easier opponents. Ranking 1st or second is good thing?

Georgia 1 Czech Republic 1

Great game to watch with both sides looking to win it. Georgia started flagging around the 75 minute mark and the Czechs were pressing for the second goal. Georgia defended resolutely and right at the end of added time Georgia broke away and nearly won it with the last kick of the match. Overall, a very entertaining game with Georgia (I suspect) more happy with the draw than the Czech Republic.

Turkey vs Portugal is up next. How this will play out is debatable. It will depend on what both teams want out of the game and what they expect to happen in the final two games. In those final games Turkey play the Czech Republic and Portugal play Georgia. We will see what happens.

Best wishes,
Steve

If you are asking specifically about Group F then it much to early to speculate on the pairings in the last 16 knockout games. If you are asking in general and the group positions go according to the seedings, then, in theory, the higher you are placed in the group should get you an "easier" opponent - at least according to seedings.

The problem is that teams rarely perform according to seeding expectations. Some teams start a tournament brightly and then fade. Other teams start poorly and get better. Sprinkle in some luck both good and bad and anything can happen.

Much of football is about what is going on in your head as how much skill you have as a footballer. Multiply that by eleven players and every football game is unique and unpredictable to a greater or lessor agree.

So, generally, first and second places are preferred.

I have no idea if that answers your question or not.

Best wishes,
Steve

I had one of these, but the wheels fell off.

Meanwhile…..

64 mins

Turkey 0-3 Portugal

Well that is sub-optimal…… but the Portuguese look good for the win and Turkey have frankly disappointed.

Oh well, it’s all down to you Romania. Come on Dragusin and co.

So it finished Turkey 0 Portugal 3.

Comfortable for Portugal. Not sure what Turkey was playing at.

Next up is... Belgium vs Romania. This should be an interesting game.

Steve

Half time

Belgium 1-0 Romania

An entertaining match, but Romania making too many unforced errors.

Magomedov with KO in the 3rd, easy money as big favorite.
Should've done him inside the distance -175.

Belgium bring it home plz.
Soccer 3-way action sucks.
