Why don't any of the options change anything

Post by jeffnward »

I finally sat down to give this game a shot and the first thing I tried to do was get into the game, which should be simple right? Nope! I got stuck watching an endless video. I got out of it, I'm not quite sure how I did.

Next, I wanted to change the counter style through the options menu. But no matter what I did, nothing changed. And I can't imagine I was doing anything wrong because all I did was check off different options only to watch nothing happen.

Then, I wanted to play the boot camp scenarios to get more familiar with the game. But there's absolutely no instruction whatsoever. The screen just sits there.

In my untold decades of PC wargaming, this is the worst start to any game EVER. I am really regretting purchasing this title. Please help!

Hmm, that is a first.

Did you update the game?

There is a way to stop that intro video by moving the "novideo.txt" from the graphics folder to the main folder.

I'm not sure about what you're missing with the bootcamp scenario. The scenario will flip through a series of instructions for you. You can see an example here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWXjE90ETOo

How did you try to change the counter style? There are two different counter style changes, one for the unit list, one for the map. Some of the counter changes are only available in 2D (views 5,6,7,8). If you were in 3D mode, you likely wouldn't see any changes.

You're welcome to join our discord and I am happy to walk you through it. Or watch some of the videos I've done on the bootcamps, they really do help.

Thank you!!
