Print-Friendly Manual?

Post by sirfulcrum »

Is there a print-friendly version of the manual available? All that background art is going to eat massive amounts of toner. I know there was one for Flashpoint Germany.

I'd upgrade to physical media to get a copy of the manual, but I do not have that option.

Thank you.

Is the physical copy of the manual updated with the latest patches?

Here is a quick breakdown of the game's documentation:

1). The printed hardback manual was set just before the game's release, and all of the information was based on the state of the game at that time. The manual is still fairly relevant but outdated regarding new features or changes/improvements to the game engine and content. The printed hardback manual can be viewed (and printed) as a PDF by going into the Help menu in the game and clicking "View Game Manual in PDF Format." That PDF is the same as the printed version. There are no plans to update this printed version.

2). Included in the game's Documents folder ([Game Installed Path]/Documents) is a PDF labeled FCCW Southern Storm Manual Printer-Friendly.pdf. This is the print-friendly version of the hardback printed manual/ebook.

3). In the game download, we provide a number of PDF versions of the game's field manuals (FMs), which cover the same information from the printed manual (as the manual was based on our FMs for the game at the time). These are located in the game's root folder in the Documents/FMs folder. You can call these up in-game from the Help menu by clicking on the "Open Field Manuals Folder" option in the listing. Currently, there are six FMs covering Game Operations, Battlefield Primer, Tutorial Operations, Scenario Design, Battle Planning, and Campaign Design. Four more are in the works covering Mod Content topics and we hope to release those in July. All of these FMs are constantly updated for typo corrections, grammar, missing information, and new/updated features. These are pushed out with new updates as needed.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!
