Questions?

Post by GBS »

The patch mentions Battle HQ Connectivity. What does that mean? Also, what is the difference between Force Delay and Unit Delay (under the commander screen)?

Thanks. Great patch and great game.

BHQ is a gaming lobby operated my Matrix. The connectivity means that gamers who meet on BHQ to play HTTR can have the HTTR gaming session launched directly from BHQ.

Since no one has answered your second question, this is how I understand it:

DELAY = The time it takes for a force to receive, process, and execute an order from the ultimate commander; in this case you. It is calculate by propagating the order down through the chain of command and applying various modifiers such as efficiency, proximity to HQ, load, etc ...

UNIT DELAY = The basic quantum element from which all delay is derived which is intrinsic to the given unit for which it is displayed. Thus, all units have a UNIT DELAY regardless of whether they are an HQ or not.

FORCE DELAY = An estimate (a very rough estimate) of the DELAY the force will experience with its current composition if given a new order.

---

Now, here is an interesting question that just occurred to me. Dave, will these numbers vary based on what the player selects in the main difficulty options screen?

---

I hope that helped.

GBS,

Unit Delay is as described in the original manual. Force Delay is an estimate of the time it will take for the entire force to start moving/executing the task you have ordered it to do. Eg. A Bde HQ may have a Unit Delay of 42 and a Force Delay of 135. This would mean that the HQ unit itself would have processed the order in 42 minutes but it will take a further 93 minutes for the orders to trickle down through the Bn HQs to the Companies and for the companies to start moving.

Mark,

Thanks for responding. As to your question. Try it out. I think you will find that we have that base covered mate! [:)]
