Red Target

Rule the Waves III is a simulation of naval ship design and construction, fleet management and naval warfare from 1890 to 1970. and will place you in the role of 'Grand Admiral' of a navy from the time when steam and iron dominated warship design up to the missile age.

What does the red target / bull's eye on the map represent? I found no mention of it in the manual.

Some missions require you to sink ships within a certain distance of the marker.

In convoy missions, it represents the approximate position of the convoy at some point.

Those ones are friendly minefields - they can still affect your ships, so avoid them!

I haven't had an issue, but someone posted an image of a blue box slightly offset over the red circle :shock:

Could have been coincidence, but since seeing that...

That blue box would be an identified enemy minefield.

No, the blue box represents where you've hit a mine.

This is because I've noticed that enemy minefields detected by your mine sweepers will also be displayed as a red circle.
