Strategic Command WWII: War in the Pacific - Out Now

Post by NotTooBad »

Strategic Command WWII: War in the Pacific is finally out now.

The game features a vast 36,000 hex map, covering regions from India to North America at an 80km/50mi scale. The main campaign starts with the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941, leading to Japan's rapid expansion in Asia and the Pacific.

Players command forces from seven major powers, engaging in land and sea battles with immersive 3-D graphics or NATO counters. Five mini-campaigns include historical battles like Khalkhin Gol, Guadalcanal, Saipan, Iwo Jima, and the Soviet invasion of Manchuria.

New gameplay elements feature airfields, naval supply rules, and iconic events such as the Doolittle Raid.

Don't miss the opportunity to take advantage of the release offer and complete your Strategic Command collection. Grab your copies now with discounts of up to 60% on all titles in the Strategic Command series, available in our store for a few days only.

On May 6th 1942 is reported, that in the whole of
Vichy France are public rallies for supporting
General de Gaulle. That's wrong. It must be corrected to Marshall Petain.

This is based on the events recounted by Matthew Cobb in his book The Resistance (Simon & Schuster, 2009) as he reports that the French resistance organized mass demonstrations on the 1st May 1942, with tens of thousands demonstrating in Marseille and Lyons, and smaller crowds in Toulouse, Nice and Montpellier, to cries of Long live de Gaulle, and Hang Laval!

There was violence in Marseille and Lyons, and 'the demonstrations were even more successful than the Resistance had expected, partly because... Pierre Laval had returned as Prime Minister. This change, which followed pressure from Germany, showed that the Vichy regime was truly nothing more than a tool in Hitler's hands. Two enthusiastic collaborators – Admiral Darlan and Pierre Laval, head of the military and head of the government respectively – now vied for power in Vichy. Pétain's pretence that he represented some kind of "third way" between the Allies and the Axis, a tactic that had fooled many people, had been shown to be a delusion'.

Thank you very much for the information. I'd better have googled for this demonstrations, instead of thinking it was a pro Vichy rally and it would have been written wrong. I'm sorry.

Hi

There's no reason I can think of why it wouldn't work, and some players are already using it:

If you have it already downloaded, after installing WWII: War in the Pacific, just copy it across to this folder, and you will be able to use it just as with the other games:
