MPPs from the Middle Eaast

Post by baronvonmunchausen »

Hi,
As Axis I have conquered Egypt and in a stalemate in Iraq against Indian forces. All this has delayed Barbarossa. I hope to at some point be able to turn North against Russia, but movement is painfully slow. My question is: at least am I getting the MPPs from the oil wells under my control? If yes, how exactly are they reaching Germany? (Turkey is Neutral).
I am not too clear on how MPPs travel across such distances.

On a related point: I have committed an HQ, a corps an army and 2 tanks, a fighter and a bomber to the Middle East. Is this enough in other people's experience?

Also, I got a message after Yugoslavia declared war for Allies that Axis high command was angry or mad or something along that line. Was there some negative consequence for Germany?

Thank you for any advice pointers.

Overland to Beirut and then by Italian tankers over the Mediterranean to Italy? I've often wondered how the Axis would have been able to profit much from capturing Middle East oil other than by using it locally to run their vehicles and denying it to the Allies. It would have been a challenge getting it back to industry given the lousy infrastructure in the area. Even the Caucasus oil if captured probably would have had to have been shipped over the Black Sea somehow. Without pipelines in place the stuff is really cost-inefficient to move in mass other than by tanker.

However, I believe in the game the oil MPPs go straight into the national pool without the need to connect it to factory somewhere. Perhaps a developer can chime in.

Yes by sheer coincidence someone on the barroom forum talked about the same thing and gave a complete answer.

Every country that has no convoy for a side gives its money automatically without any requirements to this side.
Example:
Burma has a convoy for Japs, but not the Allies. So Japs need to bring the convoy home, Allies get the Burma money automatically.
Iraq is the other way round.

Germany loses a bit of NM, which it gets back after Yugo surrenders.

Btw, you can simply look up the exact details of all those events (and there are a lot) in the strategy guide of each scenario.

Thanks.

Progress in Irak is now stopped, a stalemate against India. It simply took forever to get the HQ over to Bagdad, and so the Indians are now fully set up.
