Trying some things out as the Japanese, maybe I should start an AAR . . .
Yes, please. If you have the time, and energy. :)

At least you can watch the Olympics at the same time as they are occurring with no tape delay. I am going try to watch as they happen. I want to see the wins and possible records as they occur. From people like these:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxIIUlNUSks
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oVZ5B9Pw_s
I have no interest to watch any of the Olympic events. At the moment that is. It might change when the games begin. Although, it might very well be that it doesn't.
Hi Ormster,

My wife is about all things equestrian. As far as the Olympics go, she considers these games to be 'pretty good, but not great' competitions in the equine arena(s). Most serious (and she is one) equestrian followers look to the various "5-star" events held globally. There's an annual competition in Kentucky, USA, one in Germany, one in France and so forth.

A trend we've both noticed lately is that Sweden is 'punching above its weight' in equestrian sports the past several years. They have 2 of the world's top rated rider / horse combinations and are (especially considering their size) doing extremely well in global 5-star competitions. If I were a Swede, I'd check it out.

Now, that being said, the Swedes got dumped out of competition in the Olympics equestrian competitions relatively quickly. Don't feel too badly. The perennially competitive Germans came in *7th* in team eventing this year. Gott im Himmel!

Hello,

I've noticed that Sweden has been doing fairly well in horse sporting events. And I've tried watching them in previous Olympics. However, I have no clue on how to judge on how well the teams are doing. Perhaps I would see it if the team does abysmally bad, although I suspect I might not.

Anyway. Not yet watched any of the Olympics. Not feeling interested this time around. Interest have lessened a lot over several games. I hope this will pass soon as I remember being fascinated about it all in days past.

Good seeing you, Chickenboy. I hope you, and yours, are all well.

I hope all of my Thread Brothers are happy and healthy these days. Life in NC is good, and I'm having a blast learning to play the drums. I really miss having a game of AE going, but I really do wonder how I ever managed to have the time for it.
