Do you build your new depots and readjust priority during the Move phase?

Do you rely on AI Depot Management or build your own at a premium?

AI tends to remove depots that shouldnt be removed s if someone already gained experience with the system he will avoid the AI management

You don't pay a premium for building them yourself. Look it up, it's in the manual. IIRC AI costs 10 AP and will build 10 depots. You can build them wherever you need them without disbanding the ones back in the line. AI management should never be used.

From the manual
AI depot management tab
or select CNTRL+C and up to a maximum of 10 new depots
will be created (at a cost of 5 Administrative Points if all 10
are built) and the computer will also disband and change
the priorities of existing depots (using the same strategy as
it would for the AI player).

If its using the standard AI algorythms that are also used in AI games then the function should be definitely avoided.
In GC41 I placed some intermediary depots in Poland and also some near the frozen units in Hungary and Romania (to limit vehicle use during resupply) but the AI quickly disbands those.
One should never disband depots unless they are in danger of bein captured. Just keep all depos but set their priority to zero. Or 1 if they are on a rail line so they may capture some freight that is not able to reach a depot further away
