Raiding not Quite working

Post by sschnar1 »

Just purchased and finished my first game "War in the Pacific:Day of Infamy", verison 1.00

One item stands out throughout the entire game, RAIDING.

Submarines work okay
Maritme Bombers, Destroyers, Light Cruisers, Heavy Cruisers no indication of them working.
Other ships were never set to Raid.

With maritime bombers I would have expected to see something like "Air cover prevents Raiding", Notta.
No mention of any thing but subs in the summaries.

Odd. I routinely recall seeing that message more than once in my recent play-through. The maritime bombers units I posted in New Guinea and Borneo regularly posted messages in the game turn round-up about the MPPs they were denying the Japanese.

The relevant units will have to be set to raid, otherwise they won't do so.

Hopefully that explains things?

I had set, 4 Destroyers, 3 Light Cruisers, to RAID Mode

With at least 1 on different convoy lanes.

Will try the game again to see if it duplicates
(Wish I had saved to games before deleting them)

I have had a Japanese sub set to hunt on the Australia to the UK convoy line for several turns now (in a PBEM game) and have not gotten any messages of denying the UK MPPs...and don't see any MMPs lost by the UK when viewing the Convoy Reports...
Is this a known issue? Am I missimg something?

It depends on what your opponent is doing. That Australia-UK convoy line starts the game set at 0%. If your PBEM opponent or the Allied AI elect not to set it to a higher number, then likely there will be no MPPs sent on it for your sub to raid.

Thanks, I've been thinking that's maybe it's time to give Akagi a turn at the wheel.

I played an Avalon Hill solitaire board game years ago called "Carrier" but never that one.
