Can´t install CS:ME

Post by Franciscus »

Hi.

When I tried to install the new version of CS:ME, the installer said I needed to uninstall the previous version.

I went to uninstall through the installer window button, but I got an error msg, saying that uninstll.xxx was missing (can't remember exactly). This also happened using the add and remove programs in windows.

I then opened the game folder and it only contained the directories "graphics, "mods" and "tools", all empty.

I then tried CCleaner, tinkered with registry, and deleted the game folder, restarted the PC, but still, the installer does not let me install the game, always asking to uninstall the previous version. When I click Uninstall nothing happens.

Any ideas ??

Thanks

Try installing to another spot on your computer, rather than the default.

Thank you.

Unfortunately the error happens before the installation process reach the stage of selecting where to install it…

Good day. Looks like you need to install the original version first and use the Uninstall tools.

You can grab the original from here:

Let me know if that one doesn't work and I will see if I can find an older install.
