Questionable ASW values on Ships in Service screen

Post by thedoctorking »

I had this problem with an earlier KE design and I wonder if it is a problem with the recalculation of ASW values with modern submarines. The KE Bougainville design was created after that point and has all the bells and whistles of advanced ASW design (advanced sonar, DC rockets, ASW torpedoes, two helos) and has an ASW value of 16 listed on her design. On the Ships in Service screen, she is listed as 8(14), like she is obsolete and/or needs a refit (admittedly the crews aren't great right now, but that shouldn't halve the value, right?) In any case, the value reported as the max on the Ships screen doesn't correspond to the value on the ship design.

Thanks for the report. Does this seem like a display issue to you are is there a gameplay discrepancy here as well?

I think there are two issues. 1. Display - the ships in service screen is accurately reporting the effective ASW value while the design screen is counting for DC racks and extra DC stowage even though they have become obsolete through tech advancements.
2. Gameplay - the reduction in effective ASW value for obsolete ships is being incorrectly assessed to ships that have been built or restored recently.
