Sufficiently damaged to detach

Post by thedoctorking »

This ship is in grave danger of sinking. Its only hope is to detach and head for a nearby port. But it is "not sufficiently damaged to detach." So therefore, the entire division has to head for the barn. I understand the point of not allowing people on captain's mode to drive their ships individually around the map but this is a bit much. Ships with ongoing flooding are by definition sufficiently damaged to detach.

I haven't had that problem for ships that are flooding. They generally detach with less than 50% damage if flooding. But I have had that issue with ships on fire.

(I honestly think that Admiral's Mode is as equally effective in game terms as Captain's Mode in terms of just plain winning battles. Not only is it easier, but the AI-controlled ships will generally avoid torpedoes better than the player.)

Ah. I think I see the issue. Your bar shows over a third damage, but your actual damage is only 14%. Probably a gun jam showing on the bar. With only 14%, I am not surprised you can't detach. But you should be able to do so well before "real" damage is at 50%.
