Re: Rising Sun, Falling Skies: BTSL Bigred vs John 3rd
I did not remember the b24 low nav orders when I did last turn. Always wondered what b24s will do to a Jap CV. Well, I found out when john moved into range. Afternoon On this 2nd day turn this is my only strike on the KB.

Re: Rising Sun, Falling Skies: BTSL Bigred vs John 3rd
Intel reports jap convoy w/ 34th and 42nd IJA div headed to Saigon. Unlucky for John as allies have seized a size 3 and size 5 airfield near Saigon last turn by Paradrop. Reinforced by paradrop this turn elements of the Lushai Indian airborne BDE hold the line at Bien Hoa balls airfield(5). All in theatre dive bombers rebase to Kratie(3) located 2 hexes from Saigon.
and seem to do some good damage to the IJN TF which unsuspecting moves directly into DB range.
Bien Hoa becomes a struggle this turn between elements of the Lushai Ind para reg. and 8th expeditionary force. Itseems my para landing last turn beat this jp bde into Bien Hoa by one day as it showed up after the first day airdrop. I assume this is one of the Jap marine units available in this senario from combined SLNF units. So we will see how combat fit these guys are.
Allied ground support was heavy, shown by effect on jap attack 2nd day. This may change as the remains of two jap divisions arrive at Saigon.

Re: Rising Sun, Falling Skies: BTSL Bigred vs John 3rd
Comments: Bein Hoa moves to center of all activities. Paras outnumbered 6-1. Lushie BDE commander sends out the call:
BROKEN ARROW
36 miles to northwest of Bien Hoa 255 Indian AR BDE barrels south with 52 Shermans, 52 Grants and 52 Stuarts in road march mode (strat). CBT strength of 200 will be quartered to 50 for the impending Jap shock attack.
24 miles to northeast the Indian 46th BDE (108av) and the 1st china new corp (455av) in move mode are going into Bein Hoa. These two units will provide 50% value to combat odds if they arrive 1st day, for sure on 2nd day.
Estimate of upcoming Jap attack is 600av doubled for shock to 1200av. Allied defense 1st day is 100+50=150. allied air will pulverize this attack and also bomb jap supply Sourses to cause some drop in the AV. If the allies hold Bien Hoa after day one then all is good for the allies.

44-8-3: All ground attacks occured on first day. 2nd day was a change in strat bomber targeting as Tokyo port was night bombed with 63 jap ships in port. That screen print is a consolidated report from all night attacks at Tokyo port.
Of note is the curious attack at Kushiro. IJN has a fort 5. My attack is 1-3 but I do more damage to the Japs.
