Dark Text editor option.

Post by Magpius »

The dark text option in the editor no longer works.
When I change the text option to dark; save, and then exit. Opening up the scenario, the text is unchanged.
Issue for both Pacific and Europe editors.
Can this be reviewed prior to the next patch please.
(I realise this is a pretty niche request).
-also next game, font editing please.

Is it in the editor or in the game?

When I open an existing scenario in the editor, and switch from light to dark text.
Then save, (overwrite) existing file, then quit the editor, then open the modified scenario, there is no change to the text, it's still light, not dark.
I'm currently rebuilding my retro mod for pacific, and noticed the text was not saving as dark.
[Update] Something else is going on, when I change a name of a location, (in the editor and save), it is not being updated in the subsequent game.
Going to try a reinstall.

Alvaro,
Okay so post reinstall.
Same issue.
I changed the name of a location and text to dark.
When I saved over an existing scenario name, ie 'Pacific 1941 Small Fleet'. - no effect, the changes were not saved.
When I saved as a new scenario name, ie 'Pacific 1941 Small Fleet -a'. A new folder is created and the dark text and place names were now in game.

So it seems the existing file is not being updated...
Well it's a little more nuanced. I was able to change from dark to light and back again with the '-a' scenario, but the issue with the original scenario file remains.
Perhaps there are some read only folder permission settings on the core scenarios?
Anyhow, can just rename and create new scenarios, but want to highlight the quirk.
Regards
Andrew.

The original files always get reloaded to prevent people from cheating. That is why.

When you make a new scenario that is just a modification of the original it is best to save it under a new name and copy paste all the files in the scenario folder.

dark/light code has not changed since inception.

Thanks A,
That makes perfect sense as an anti-cheat measure.
