Shock attack and defensive fire

Can you point me to a dev comment stating that LCUs which use shock attack go through a second phase of defensive fire?

Not something i've ever looked at but reading the manual I don't think there is such a thing.

I surmise for a shock attack the def fire is made more lethal as is the assault phase. Bombardment might also be more intense?

That's date 2009 and I've seen no further reference to it. The manual doesn't, old or new but the manual has a lot of stuff missing that would help understand game play. It is entirely possible it did and was was changed equally never did. I'd be inclined to think the lethality is tweeked but only those the access to the code can confirm that.
