Pressing 5 to View Supply Path Freezes the Game?!
Whenever I click on a base and press 5 see the supply paths my game would just freeze, forcing me to restart the computer. I'm running on 1126B beta. Is this normal? Anyone experience the same thing? I could keep playing without seeing supply paths but it's unfair for me.

Try pressing "5" instead.

Re: Pressing 5 to View Supply Path Freezes the Game?!
The "5" key slows down the game to a crawl, to the point that it appears to be frozen. However, it just takes a bloody long time to activate - and to deactivate - the supply path display. In solo games it takes like 2o seconds on my machine, in PBEM even longer.

No problem with "5" on my machine, an i3 laptop.
My switches:
"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -altFont -skipVideo -archive -deepColor -dd_sw -px1366 -py768

I've tested it out at least 5 times. Every time I would wait up to a few minutes and the game would still be frozen lol. I could barely pull up Alt + Ctrl + Delete every time and would have to restart the whole PC.LargeSlowTarget wrote: Tue Sep 03, 2024 2:12 pm The "5" key slows down the game to a crawl, to the point that it appears to be frozen. Hmmm Maybe it has something to do with my switch. I'll double check it today. Thanks.Yaab wrote: Tue Sep 03, 2024 2:28 pm No problem with "5" on my machine, an i3 laptop.

IIRC, I had to use the -dd_sw switch to get the calculation to speed up.

It works but takes a while for calculations even with Ryzen 7.

For anyone who has trouble pressing 5, just add -dd_sw to your switch!! To anyone reading this in the future: you are welcome

Re: Pressing 5 to View Supply Path Freezes the Game?!
I did a short test. Press "5" and try scrolling. I get a sort of a very stuttered scrolling, with 4-5 seconds lag. Thus, I can display tracing values but they are not probably ment to be activated while scrolling.
Re: Pressing 5 to View Supply Path Freezes the Game?!
In my comp -dd_sw causes transparency problems. Aka desktop items will show through the game, especially after Alt-Tabbing back and forth.
But generally it has been a good switch in past.

Re: Pressing 5 to View Supply Path Freezes the Game?!
New update: I had to delete the -dd_sw off my switch because it cause visuals glitches. Since I play on fullscreen to fully immerse myself into the Pacific, items from my desktop would appear on the map often. In the end I had to trade off not being able to see supply path (is it that important anyway?) to have stable graphics.

Depending upon where in the game you are, supply path is frequently crucialNazcatraz wrote: Thu Sep 05, 2024 1:34 pm New update: I had to delete the -dd_sw off my switch because it cause visuals glitches. It is welll known that when played on a full screen the game can cause major display problem. It does mine and always has no mater what switches I try. You can use the -pxf/-pyf switch to set a screen to whatever size you want and play in a window.Nazcatraz wrote: Thu Sep 05, 2024 1:34 pm New update: I had to delete the -dd_sw off my switch because it cause visuals glitches. It' moments like this when WITP AE really shows its age
I just want to play the game in full screen and not have any problem, but I can't. For how popular the game still is (at least to the Matrix community), I wish someone from the dev team could do something to fix problems like this. Could you imagine playing this game in 4K with upscaled & bigger UI like WITE2? Finger crossed for a WITP2!
