How to report Cheaters?

How to report Cheaters?
I've been playing this game for almost 5 years now. Either he is cheating, or this is the last game I play.
Opponent has two lvl 2 IW Turkish Corps and 0-6 and 0-4 a lvl 2 Soviet AT Corps on a field commanded by Zhukov. Corps do NOT do that damage.
On my turns the odds are even for fights between same units, then when the attack happens on his turn, insane rolls happen. I'm essentially playing 50% of the turns, his turns are *perfect* rolls and I mean *perfect*. And yes, I've played Fafnir, I know what good players are like and what to experience - I've over 100+ multiplayer games, I know what the engine can and can't do.
Another example, Level 2 IW AND level 2 AA Communist China Army with 2.0 points on experience (on a hill, but irrelevant) take 0-3 and 0-4 damage from Japanese bombers.
Only honest man on this board is Elvis, we get the same average rolls. He wins some games, I win others, but every game is fair.
In all seriousness though, how do I report my game to devs so they can review the game?

Re: How to report Cheaters?
This is why players have asked for a dice roll counter and reload counter etc. Why can't devs offer that???
Re: How to report Cheaters?
I think there are many honest players still playing this game but you have to pick your opponents.
If you have a poor experience, don't play them again.
A measure for me is Naval combat. If your opponent never makes a mistake then they may be very lucky or they may be reloading. If your opponent regularly makes mistakes - eg unexpected collisions - you are probably playing an honest opponent who is happy to take the rough with the smooth.
You could of course name your opponent as Elvis did to save the rest of us the grief?

This is at another level.
Reloads are reloads, that's par for the course.
Let me guess it's a dude who recently got the Patton Slap.
He has an in-game editor or developer mode edition.
Don't let it get to you, Archmache.
You're one of my regulars. Wanna say our matches are about even, we've played maybe 10 games.
I'm like you, rather play faster and quick return on games.
You're a blast to play, because you try something new every game.
You kicked my butt, that one game, with massive swarm over Lennigrad on 2nd turn of Barby.
Crazy repeative landings with Marines, turn-after-turn.
The Rockets are blasted me good, Brits only getting 180 MMPs, but Russia is gonna benefit.
Either way, don't quit the quit, quit the Editor in Chief, he's been Slapped (by Patton).
It's an in-game editor, he's name if officially, "Editor in Chief".
Lets toss in Batman Slap and Samson Option to be safe!

Re: How to report Cheaters?
In all the years that I have been playing this game, and I have played more than 5800 hours, I have had the opportunity to play with almost all the "regular" players. Only once have I had the feeling of being cheated in the game. I think 99% of players are honest, with a tiny percentage of dishonest. We already know the players who are always complaining about the weather, the rolls, their bad luck, etc. It is very serious to make accusations without evidence. You can report a player who stops sending you turns or ignores your game while starting others because things went wrong.
What I mean: is that it's a great game and we have a fantastic community.
What would really help would be a reload counter, as requested for many years, but until then, I trust all players. Why waste the time if not?

We will need the PBEM Challenge ID to be able to look at any PBEM games, and this will display if you hover your mouse of the game in the PBEM Lobby.

Re: How to report Cheaters?
I already wrote the answer.
You guys are barking up the wrong tree.
Will make it simple, by writing it again.
This isn't about people, our personal experiences, nor length of time playing.
This isn't about win/losses or some silly pride issue.
This is at another level. Events outside possibilities of reloads. Real & dangerous.
There's an in-game editor or developer mode edition.
Believe it, or not. (it's not reloads)

Would that be prevented from hosting the game or can it still be hacked?ElvisJJonesRambo wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2024 10:19 pm ...

Re: How to report Cheaters?
I still don't get how a modified game can get by the PBEM server check when an opponent joins the challenge.
The ONLY way (that I know) that a modded game can work on the PBEM server is only if both players have the EXACT version.
For example, I both test and play a lot of modded SC games in MP. During pregame testing, sometimes while under development, one person or another has the wrong file that was hosted. Example: Person A has Ver 1.04 and Person B has Ver 1.05. Well if that happens, the game in the PBEM server lobby is red. You can not join.
Same with vanilla, where one player has the latest version and someone else doesn't. We all have seen the redded-out game challenges in the Server lobby.
Still, I do know there is something else that folks have done in the past to cheat. How they are is unknown to me, but I am pretty confident it is NOT from relogging. It's something having to do with the die rolls, but not from constant relogging to get the right die roll.
I had mentioned in Elvis's thread about a Mr K. This person possibly had a program that adjusted combat die rolls on the spot, manipulated the random variables of weather, and boosted MPP income in a nuanced but meaningful way.
He only came to the attention of some of us scamps that collectively played hundreds if not thousands of hours of SC-WW1 because we started communicating between our selves, including sharing screenshots and anecdotes of play.
At first, we thought this newcomer was some master of the universe, and we got another strong opponent to play with.
Soon, it became evident, that something else was happening.
Anyways, best way like mention above, is to sent the challenge ID so the game can be forensically analyzed.
Still, it would be nice to find out if indeed our suspicions are warranted and confirmed that indeed someone cheated.
I understand that it would not be wise to detail how exactly they cheated, as public knowledge on how it's done would lead to proliferation, kind of like atomic bomb secrets being leaked.
My 3 cents.

Good advice from OCB. Please share the game code with Bill as he's requested so he can investigate.

Re: How to report Cheaters?
Stop with the suggesting "Check the ID".
I already know the truth.
There's nothing to investigate, it's fact.
There's a way to manipulate the game.
Not talking about reloading.
The Insiders already know, they ain't saying.
It's very simple.
I don't know how to do it.
But I've got 2 good guesses.

Re: How to report Cheaters?
Personally I think SC WW1 is the best game ever done in that conflict about PC gaming with choices and strategy. If there are cheaters I think much easier to identify with dense fronts and historical movements. During Battlefront times movement was very rigid. But with new versions all games in SC titles have flexible movement. Why need to cheat is beyond my undertanding even it is rare.

Checking the challenge ID is how they could possibly figure out what's going on Elvis. Maybe your right. The devs do know or suspect. But, why not have an investigation that can possibly lead to stopping this sort of thing?ElvisJJonesRambo wrote: Tue Sep 10, 2024 3:20 pm Stop with the suggesting "Check the ID".

And yes, it's not about reloading, though in the past that was one way to....cheat. Now it's something smoother.....
If someone is coming through my backdoor, I wanna know who it is....if you get my drift.

Speaking technically, there's nothing that the buyer of game agrees to in regards to reloading, hacking, etc.
