possible air range bug

Post by boldairade »

back after a long absence

playing a MP game now, and found an oddity

redeployed some of Germany's air assets in 1939 for strategic bombing

wanted to raid Lille

All squadrons are well withing range but only one is allowed to bomb the city

all are set to industrial bombing

it is light snow across the front

confirmed with colored range rings(I LOVE that feature) that all wings are within range

does weather effect range? i don't remember that ever being the case

No the rings are not exact. that might be the issue.

Hum... have you checked the weather in both hexes: Lilles and the bombers' hexes?

Also, what is the hex count if the bombers would have to go "around" Belgium?

I didn’t realize they can’t use Belgian airspace

This is almost certainly the culprit

Thank you old friend/sparring partner!

My pleasure boldairade. :)

There was a fix a while back about not going over neutral countries. I think it works when you are doing the missions on your turn, but does not work when done by AI reactions (such as your bombers intercepting enemy naval units in your enemy's turn; they will still go over them). I have not checked it in a while.

I’m super busy but by late October things should get a lot better.

I’d give it another go, though with the revamped soviets I fear I might not give you much of a run
