Re: Quick Questions Thread
Hi,
I'm curious how important HQs are in TBs? If there are not enough of them to take care of all land units, will combat in that TB be affected?

Headquarters in theaters do not influence anything, they only increase the theater's CV.

Re: Quick Questions Thread
If you dont have enough HQs as the axis to stay within the command limit with all of your forces (like in the Stalingrad to Berling Campaign), what is the best way to deal with the situation?
The most problematic are the Army HQs. There are just arent enough of them and many HQs are dealing with 2x or 3x of their maximum limit.
Should I just accept that the benefit that army level HQs would provide will therefore be nonexistent and just roll with the fact or should I select weaker/less important cores and skip a level and attach them to an army group.
This way at least my most important corps/units can benefit from a proper chain of command.
The above is especially important if I want to utilize assault HQs if any part of the chain is overburdened even by a single point, the bonuses disappear.
Thanks for the insight,

Remember that Axis Ally troops take up extra command capacity. So you might want their armies to skip the AG level and report direct to OKH.

How far should this be taken?

Like on the picture (right click and open in a new window for a larger image) does this mean that I should detach half of the corps from the 18th Army in the North and just have them assigned to AG North directly?
This way I could have my best corps with a proper a chain of command and the rest I wont.
Is this what you meant?

Re: Quick Questions Thread
Yes I would have the corps that are guarding the Leningrad and Orienbaum sectors report to AGN and the corps on the 'true' front line report to 18A.

Available trucks are on the production screen ("p" hotkey): Trucks produced, repaired and captured are in the logistics report ("shift-e" hotkey):ErickRepie wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 2:38 am Hi,

Quick Questions Thread
1. How do I assign a supply priority level directly to an airfield?
In the manual: "Airbases are also assigned a supply priority (from 0-4) by the player."
2. There is never enough capacity for my paratroopers.
Even on a level 3 airfield and lots of transport planes (JU 52) on the same airfield. The
values change a lot depending on the landing hex.
What am I doing wrong?

Re: Quick Questions Thread
Select an on-map Air HQ and change its supply priority. All the airbases with planes from that Air HQ will change priority accordingly.

Re: Quick Questions Thread
thank you very much. I know that.
I thought you could set the supply priority for each airport separately.

Can anyone tell me why the two marked (blue circles) infantry divisions have such different defense values (60 +13).
The individual values, elements, leaders, etc. are almost the same, aren't they?
The photo is from the 1st turn of the 1941 campaign.
Many thanks.

In a word, terrain. One is sitting on a swamp hex the other is in clear.

Re: Quick Questions Thread
ah, ok.
that seems to be the case even with tanks!?
I always thought that from a swamp hex the attack and defense values are very weak and that an attack into a swamp hex gives a big advantage. !?
many thanks.

Re: Quick Questions Thread
Swamp/rough/heavy forest/mountain hexes all significantly increase the defense values. That is when you could take advantage of splitting a division into 3 regiments for defense.

Re: Quick Questions Thread
Hi! Quick question about scenario Kutuzov To Bagration 43-44.
In this scenario the German side has TB Soviet Garnizon, but it's not specified how many units there should be. Maybe you know if the units in this TB are needed (for example to reduce the damage caused by Soviet partisans), or can they be moved on the map? The Steel Inferno Manual does not mention this.

Re: Quick Questions Thread
Can field marshalls not be used as corps commanders? I wonder because Rommel has good stats but quite bad admin value so he is not that suited to high commands

Soviet Coastal Artillery Divisions
Not sure what to do with them but does it matter that they never gain Combat Preparation Points? Always zero.
