Base Screen
Hi all,
This may even be in the game already, but if not it would seem to me to be a useful tool....
....A screen that lists bases, their current supplies, the current supply usage, & how long a base can go before it runs out. I realise this may get a bit icky in India/China where land forces may potentially draw supply for multiple bases, but it makes convoy planning a lot easier elsewhere.

I like that recommendation as part of the base summary screen.

What interval is the "Supplies required" for? A week? A month? I haven't been able to figure this out in UV.

I don't think so, at least in UV, otherwise my troops would have starved a long time ago. Are you sure of this or is it just a guess?
RE: Base Screen
Are you sure? According to the screen shown above Wuhan AFB only has supplied for two days? I thought it was monthly or at least weekly in UV?

The number listed is the amont of supplies Required daily by units at the base... If your supply number is less than the required number your units start losing effectiveness and disabled units.

I am with Paulus on this one, at least from UV experience. The supply requirement is never consumed on a daily basis. Does actual consumption, i.e., what you need to restock every day equal the required number?

Hi, Just ran this test
Base Saipan (1944 Allied control)
Daily required 18,367
On Hand 266,670
Daily arrive 10,000
run turn
On hand 253,351
looks to me like it eats the daily required and then some. (spoilage?)

That's great to know. I hope they change in in UV to mean "per day" because I can tell you that whatever scale it is in UV it is NOT "per day". Maybe per month.
RE: suppy
I thought it was the weekly needs. Which is why you need 4X the required for full efficiency - or something like that.

RE: suppy
Gary says that the supply requirement is supposed to be the requirement for a month. However, in my experience the requirement gets used up much faster than one month, especially if there is construction going on at the base. Although the requirement is supposed to account for extra use going on if there is combat, etc., my experience is that the requirement never coveres what is actually being consumed. But if you have a unit just sitting at a base where absolutely nothing is happening, supplies equal to the supply requirement should be used up in one month.
I think WitP may be different than UV as I seem to recall that a basic change was made at some point (but I could be wrong about this).

And that is completely historically accurate. The bean counters never provided the *real* requirements. [:D]

Whoops, I stand corrected was thinking supply production which is calculated daily.

It doesn't help when they are scattered across 70 .doc files that contradict each other. These guys have it so easy, getting a nice manual eh Pry? [:'(]

What an exaggeration. There's only 45 alpha note files at last count along with a couple of design docs. And once you consolidate the items that are important for the rules you'll only end up with 50-60 pages of contradictory notes. What's the problem? [:)]

I was counting the scenario notes too [:'(]

Hi, We are at least 1 percent complete with generating new report files.
I mean I've completly finished reviewing at least 4 allied units in Scenario 15. Thats the nice thing about computers. To do this for a board game I would have already used a forest of Redwoods worth of paper.
