Blank/White UI Dropdown Bar

Post by ValkyrieYukikaze »

Every dropdown bar in CMO with white background would not show any text in my end. While white color text with grey background can shows without any problem. It seems like certain UI selection in my PC is lacking background so the white text just blend in with the white background. I tried to change Windows 10 setting but without any success. Is there anyway to fix this as it make things very difficult.

Hi, I'm currently using the steam version of the game, build 1.06. 1328. 18
I comes back from a long break for this game and it is a fresh installment. I haven't had this problem before. I tried to adjust my Win10's colour setting and also reinstall the game, but the bug still exist.

Okay, let's go through the checklist:

* Is the OS fully updated? Graphics drivers updated? Direct-X 11 installed?
* Is Command running as admin? (ie. prompting you "are you sure you want to run this program" when you launch it)
* (Steam only) Are Steam overlays disabled for Command?
* (Steam only) Is Direct-Write disabled on the Steam client?
* Are all other applications (and especially hardware-helper apps like RivaTuner, Nahimic, MSI Afterburner etc.) shut down?
* Are you using a high-DPI desktop? (ie. font size >100%)
* Can we see your DxDiag file?

Hi, I checked all those items and tested to run my CMO. But the problem still exist while I already disabled the steam direct writing and other software that might affect the game. My screen resolution/font setting is 100% and I have Direct-X 12 (which includes 11).

From your first screenshot, I see that Command is currently using the discrete GPU. Can you try setting it to instead use the iGPU? (either through Windows or through NVidia's control panel).

In your case, the iGPU is powerful enough that it should be able to run Command comfortably. (I have a Ryzen 4700U laptop with just the iGPU and it runs Command like a breeze).

I'm trying to change it but it seems like both option in my window's graphic setting leads to using the "GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti"; there isn't any iGPU option there. I also tried to change it via the NVIDIA's control panel but still, the only option is the same GPU. I also tried updating the NVIDIA GeForce and restart the laptop a few times, the problem is still there where every dropdown menu appears to be fully white. While I can blindly trying to select options on the "blank spaces", it is very annoying to use. Here is the screenshot from window's graphic option: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wzMkG- ... sp=sharing

This strongly suggests that your iGPU is disabled.

A couple more things you can try:

* Re-enable the iGPU (probably through the machine's BIOS/EFI) and, once Windows recognizes it and updates its drivers, pin Command to use that instead.

* Given that you are using Chinese(?) regional settings, can you temporarily switch to English regional settings and see if that helps.

Thanks.

I tried to do that in the BIOS/EFI. My BIOS version is "FSCN24WW" and it seems that the only graphic drives related options there is to change the Discrete Graphic to Switchable Graphic. Where it make CMO very laggy and still did not fix the issue. I also set my system into the English US setting and restarted, but the dropdown menu still appears to be white. I do wonder that did the dropdown menu used certain background texture file or something that maybe I'm missing?
