best setting for AI games now

Post by fcam1387 »

Hi

It has been sometime since I last loaded up this game and it looks like a number of changes have been made with recent patches.

Could someone please tell me the best settings to use for reasonably challenging German vs AI games now that there are new choices to make for national morale, combat delays etc? I am not an expert player, but am seeking a challenge.

Thanks

As far as I know some of the SP settings can be changed while in play as they are simply coefficients of calculations. Thus, if you are getting smacked around too much, you can tune it down. So, you could just start off normal and tweak until you get a few jabs in yourself.

The one thing everyone has stressed is 110 morale is important cutoff as it means the AI never fails a roll.

I am strictly a German vs Ai player and have been using the following settings and it has been giving me a very enjoyable game.

Reduced combat delay

+5 morale to everyone (including Soviets) in 41-42

+5 morale to everyone (including Soviets) in 43-45 except Germans who get +10

Give the Germans +5 to vehicle repair in 41-42

Just these few changes have really opened the game up in 41-42. As the Germans I can now make historical progress.

But by 43 the Russians have become much tougher and are giving me a good challenge.

The extra morale boost favors the Soviets in the long run as they take less casualties, but not as less as reduced retreat option which I found was too much of a help to Soviets.

By summer 43 I am facing a very large and tough Soviet army but the German army is also the largest and toughest I have ever had. Should be very exciting the rest of the way.

I ran an AI vs AI with your settings (except for reduced combat delay, must have forgot) and got a Draw. Game ended T208 10th of June, not much left of the Axis.
Molotov : This we did not deserve.

Foch : This is not peace. This is a 20 year armistice.
