Why does....

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Why does....

Post by HansBolter »

air recon never produce an Air Recon Value higher than +0?

I have played several dozen turns over the course of several scenarios and have yet to see an Air Recon mission produce an Air Recon Value higher than +0.

What is the point of Air Recon if it never accomplishes anything?

If you go into the air directive summary after the air phase has run, you can see some recon effect numbers after the fact. Why nothing
more than "+0" displays during the turn itself I don't know.
