Drones

Post by larryfulkerson »

so um.......hey you guys: what are we going to do to represent Drones in the equipment.database. One type can be used for recee only and one that is a kamakasi. We gotta come up with properties for the Drone, AP and AT and so on. Those values can be estimated by the caliber of the weapon the Drone carries. And it can carry 40mm payloads easily. What say you?

Drones should also have anti air capability. Drones shooting at other drones. And now, drones shooting at helicopters: Russian Mi-8 and Mi-28.

How do you simulate the type of guidance used for your drone? How do you simulate it can be affected by Electronic Warfare? Is there anything in the equipment database for this?

What about loiter munitions guys?

I'm wondering how difficult it would be to somehow implement the impact of surveillance drones. I would think they could act as a force multiplier within in a small area for all weapons.

And don't forget single use drones and autonomous drones.

If duct tape doesn't fix it then you are not using enough duct tape.

Single use, like rockets, I imagine can be set to be destroyed in any battle. It'd be more work for the modder to have to set the inventory. But between this and theater options, to some degree, players could control their economies: production or acquisition of drones, guided missiles, maybe even artillery shells.
