1128b patch - Tracker - Allies - new bases

Post by Yaab »

Beta patch 1128 added or renamed several new Allied bases.
In Tracker, those new/renamed bases appear as assigned to Japan region.
I have sorted those bases and assigned them to their proper regions in Tracker.

The updated Tracker region definition file is attached herein as a zip file.

Mind you, I have not sorted any new/renamed bases that are owned by Japan at the start of the game - hope some Japanese player will sort them and update the Tracker file.

EDIT: There are several new bases on Ceylon and New Zealand (Northern Island). AndyMac is cooking those foreign invasions!

Here is the list of new/renamed Allied bases (sorry for the bad formatting):

I don't get the rationale for those 3 bases added in Canada. There were literally hundreds of small air stations developed for training pilots under the Commonwealth Air Training Plan. I can't see those three as being representative of that effort (most of which trained for the European theater). Saskatoon city was/is about the same size as Regina but really doesn't need to be shown separately. Watson Lake and Fort McMurray were inconsequential in that era. There is basically no chance that Japan would ever be able to conquer that far inland anyway. Why clutter up the map?
Having vented my puzzlement, I also acknowledge that it is unlikely the changes will be removed. C'est la game.

Ceylon in 1128b is so overdeveloped that it gives me vibes of an adrift Manhattan.

Fort McMurray does feature a little half-developed oil field. But it's like a drop in the gigantic Allied war barrel. Otherwise enjoy the swarming mosquitoes up there in northern Alberta (and we're not talking the famous British tac bomber).

They give new opportunities plus they help the AI.

Anything that helps the AI is a plus in my book.

With 11.27 we also had Gibraltar, Alexandria, Suez, Port Said, Jamaica, New Orleans, and Baton Rogue. At least the list got trimmed a little. Not as many off-map clicks and routing either.

There is not A"I" but scripts.
----
Btw: I did not need or wanted any new bases (esp. not "off map" ones) so my opinion here the same like disband yes/no crap that was added

There is something, either "script" or "AI" that encourages the computer to attack enemy units or bases that are adjacent to its units.

Complete region list for all new bases under 1128.4.

Organised by country as of 1939 then by rail and road connection. E.g. China is split into three north (of yellow river), south (of Yangse) and central between them. There's no rail links. Another example NZ North and south. Do what you will.

That New Zealand split into the North and South islands is very nice.
And thank you for updating the file!
