Ships in refit blocked...

Hi,
I have been playing for 2 years on the Japanese side. on a PBEM RHS, I am in January 45 and for around fifty tours, I have several ships (2 CA - 2 SS) which have returned to refit in 3 different ports and which no longer come out, they remain frozen at 14 or 20%.
It's not oil because in Singapore there is a lot of it, the other 2 ports, no.
I know there are some bugs in this RHS Mod but is there anyone who knows this problem ?

Hi btd64,
we can see the 3 ships which are blocked in the Yokohama shipyard. The 2 CAs underwent an overhaul 2 months ago and have remained at 14% since then.
For the BB Yamato it's different, it went into "repair" 5 months ago following a torpedo with 245 days of repair and a few days ago the remaining number of 135 was transformed into 128%.
In Yokohama there are 47,245 supplies but only 260 fuel.
Perhaps because Japan was seriously lacking fuel at that time?

I don't know how long those refits are and I don't have my game open. Which .exe version, scenario, and any additional modifications? Has the base and specifically the shipyard been attacked? If so, any damage could reduce the effective size to below what is needed for the upgrade although I don't know if that would affect any upgrade already started.

No, the Cruisers have been frozen at 14% for 2 months, we cannot remove them from the shipyard.
Battleship Yamato also went from 135 days to 128%.
Yokohama has never been attacked before.

We can see in this 2nd image capture that the type of repairs desired does not change the problem. Pier side or shipyard side that doesn't change the problem.
Ships that have percentages under repair can no longer leave.
I'm almost at the end of my PBEM and I think these ships are lost to me.
This is one of the bugs in this RHS scenario 125 version

The "%" symbol indicates refitting, since this is a RHS scenario, maybe you should contact the scenario designer in any thread for this scenario. I also don't have that scenario downloaded so I can't just fire up the editor nor the scenario in the game and look at the situation.

Besides, I didn't really understand the difference between the number of days remaining for the complete repair and the percentage that is displayed?
You talk about “redevelopment” but most “redesigns” are also indicated in “number of days of repair”.

It is not a "percentage" but rather that the ship is refitting. The number showing is the number of days left. The Yamato can not finish the refit using the current repair mode so that is why the "X" is showing.

Are you using a translation program?

I am no expert on these things but I noticed that the ships are set at "low Priority". Would anything change if only the BB was set that way and the CAs set at "normal" or "high"?
I agree that the % symbol is not used as a percentage but only to indicate refitting is on going.

And in that pic showing pierside repair time the X means some of the damage cannot be repaired in Pierside mode. That would apply to both flotation and engineering damage >5.

So with what RJ has said, it looks like Pierside is wrong for Yamato (the timeline estimate was going down if you ignore the % sign). But the appearance of the % suggests that Yamato started a new upgrade while it was repairing damage. Check the date on that upgrade vs the date the % sign appeared -it was likely the first of the month.

As for the CAs, I think they are victims of Yamato which is sucking up all the repair points!

No, it's me who voluntarily lowered the repair level for a few laps before it was at the maximum but that didn't change anything, (Look at the first screenshot of the topic).The shipyard in Yokohama is the largest in all of Japan, it can accommodate 290,000 tons and I have more than 40,000 supplies. but maybe BBFanboy is right, the Yamato must absorb all the repair points and my CA must wait.
I'll see it in about thirty laps if it moves...
It is also perhaps constraint rules of this RHS version.
In any case in 2 years on this part, it's the first time I've seen this.

Yamato should not hold up the final repairs of those CAs. Set them to High priority and leave Yamato at Low or Pierside for a few days. It is possible that there is a glitch in program or the saved game.

Taking a step back. The damage on Yamato is all "major" damage and for both engine and flotation categories the damage is above 5. That damage cannot be repaired anywhere but in a shipyard. If the BB is not in a shipyard the damage will never get repaired.
I believe all "refits" only create system damage and the indication of the "shipyard size" needed to be able to do the refit is not a requirement that the ship be placed in the shipyard. It only means that the refit has to be done in a base that has the indicated size shipyard. The assumption is that the needed "assets" will be available in a base that has the indicated size.
Both of the CA have the same refit schedules and from your posting it seems that the earlier refits were already completed. The 5/44 refit only takes 45 days.
I believe the numbers 1125 (77%) on the Yamato screen tells us that the repairs to her need 1461 repair points to be able to reduce the major damage by 1. Those points can only be generated by the shipyard.
It would be helpful to see the individual ship screens for the 2 CAs. It is interesting that the screens you have posted show no damage to either of the CAs.
Given the 3 ships and what they are in need of it would seem that Yamato has to be in the SY and the 2 CA should be at pier side.
I have to say I am not familiar with the scenario you are playing. The size of the Yokohama SY is much larger than it is in the standard game (90000). Is the SY in your game really size 290?

It's the game that puts them back every turn in the shipyard, it's not me.
For the Yamato, it returned to the shipyard 3 months before the cruisers for repair and everything was going well until I placed the 2 ACs in "improvement".
From this moment on the situation is frozen !

I think it's a bug in this version because I can no longer place the 2 Cruisers on the dock side.

Regarding the size of the shipyard, it was me who gradually expanded it in order to repair several large ships at the same time. It therefore went from 90,000t to 290,000t in around 18 months of work.
I will post a message and a screenshot if the situation improves in the following days.

The reason I was suggesting that it would help to see the ship screens for the 2 CA is that normally the ship screen will indicate that the ship is "refitting" and will show the amount of "system damage" remaining on the ship due to the refitting and the number of days estimated to complete the refit.

This part is not true in all cases. Usually there is only System damage at a refit start but there are exceptions. Below is a screenshot of PH showing DD Ward just starting its transition to an APD. Note the Flotation damage as boilers are removed to make room for berthing or stores. This does require the Drydock at least at the start of the refit. Usually that sort of Float damage is repaired quickly and it is then safe to take the ship out of the Drydock but leave it in Pierside repair to finish its refit.

So, struggling here a bit with the definitions being used. If refit means upgrade, then the type(s) of damage associated with the upgrade are definable by the scenario designer. You can assign Eng, Float, or Sys damage as part of the upgrade.

“Low priority” sees IR undertaken at the same rate as “normal priority”. The difference with “normal priority” is a ship on “low priority” is placed at the end of the queue and is only worked on if all the ships ahead of it have been attended to. Use “low priority” where you want to favour some other ships but are not willing, or unable, to pay the overtime rates.

Got to admit here I've never noticed this before! Having spent a good three hours trying to find out/work it out I've failed. Anybody know what the Repair Points mean here? It can't be accumulated points as repair points are use or lose.
