Special Forces Units Disappeared?

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Special Forces Units Disappeared?

Post by HansBolter »

I attached every one of the special forces units to amphibious HQs for the invasion of France.
None of them landed, presumably because there were no empty hexes adjacent to the invasion hexes.
All coastal hexes had fortified zone units.

After returning the amphib HQs to England and learning that I couldn't transform the units back into combat units while attached to an amphib HQ, I transferred the fragments to SHAEF for reconstitution.

After doing so, the fragments simply disappeared.

I have examined every higher level HQ to see if SHAEF transferred them, but have been unable to locate a single one of them.

WTF happened to them?
