Post by Yaab »

Scen001 v 1126

Found this in my reference stash.

An LCU in Disorganised state can still receive replacements.

I don't really understand the question.

The 1/19th starts the game like, it's not a fragment.

Yes, the unit is not a fragment. I just find it strange that Disorganized state doesn't exclude the unit from receiving replacements.

I went to the manual, p.27, sequence of play. Ground Movement/Combat Sub-Phase precedes Subsidiary Logistics Phase (replacements). Thus, the unit first took part in a battle, the battle was lost, the unit was forced to retreat in Disorganized state and ONLY THEN did the unit receive replacements during Subsidiary Logistics Phase. I would imagine Disorganized would exclude units from receiving replacements, but it is not so.

I don't understand why you think the replacements would be excluded. Most of the recovery for disorganized units is getting fresh troops to fill the holes in their ranks. Each squad has to get enough men to become combat effective or it is disabled - meaning not able to receive orders (disorganized).

While I see the Op's rationale (disorganized unit would have lower CnC etc), I think BBfb's points are the more salient and I suspect that the dev's had the exact same train of thought. The simple fact is that when units are disorganized, one of the most important things that happens after it is pulled out of the line of combat is that replacements are in fact supplied to the unit. Hence the game handles it the same way ....

And I think that is where HQs help by sending the reinforcements to that unit.
