You either the complete set of terrain data or just the area of your interest from download the page.

Then go to your Command folder, if you use steam the path is like below:

If not already present make a Terrain folder with a SRTM30 sub-folder in it.

Put all the downloaded files in that sub-folder, and done!

EDIT:
Made a test:
Some links on the download page are broken, instead of starting a download they open a site with a text file (checked with Opera & Chrome)

Downloaded and placed in location stated. I did not see any improvement to the 3D Tacview display.

I just batch-downloaded all the files (using JDownloader) without a problem.

Which specific files are giving you a problem?

Talk to the Tacview devs about this: https://www.tacview.net/support/faq/en/

Tacview is not developed (and not sold) by the Command dev team.

Just tried it manually with my browser, without a batch downloader. If I e.g.click on the second file from top ( e020n90.Bathymetry.srtm) this page opens,

instead of the file is getting downloaded. e060n90.Bathymetry.srtm has the same issue.

For me this is no problem, I downloaded it it years ago. I was just wondering if something is wrong with the downloads.

I'm seeing the same too, but if I right-click on the links and "Save As...", I have no problem downloading any of them.

Can someone post a video showing what the SRTM30Plus terrain files actually does. Or is it that it does nothing really unless you're experiencing some kind of visual 0ddity in the CMO 3D display.

Also another question that I've been searching for is unlike DCS or IL-2, CMO does not allow Tacview to record scenarios or events through a recording. It can't is what I've found don't know if that still holds true today.

Broadly speaking, the purpose of the SRTM30Plus terrain add-on is to ensure that CMO and Tacview "see" the exact same world in terms of terrain elevation. This should hopefully prevent mismatch issues like this one: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 4#p4624854

This is by design. Sorry!

CMO itself has a recording feature that works very well and is a heck of a lot more flexible than anything in TacView by itself. Thats the good news. The bad news is the files get MASSIVE very quickly. And it is a little quirky. I actually use the recorder a lot in snippets. I think you can run TacView at the same time to reflect the recording in 3D. But I have never done it.
