Are Iranians Next?

Hi Guys

Are we going to get Iranians added into the game with a future update in the way that is being done with North Korea for the CS VN game ?

Hi Ian,

AFAIK the CSME 2.40 update will include revised Iraqis and brand new Iranians
(and probably a master map of the Basra area).

Absolutely!!

Iran and a completely revised Iraq will be included in the 2.40 UPDATE for Middle East coming out in January.

I am just going through any errors in the OOB's and I should have something to show you next week in regards to Iraq/Iran.

I'm not sure how much of the Basra Master map I'll do, but that is definitely in the works as well to be included in the update for January.

Thanks very much for this. Will chemical weapons follow in a future update or will we get them in January as well ? With my retirement approaching I am looking at restarting work on my work on the CSME unit picture mod, first finishing the Jordanians and then adding the Iranians and Iraqis. At some point I want to extend this the CSVN came and the Cold War one as well if time permits.

Thanks Jason, looking really good do the Pasdaran and Basij have their own distinctive unit basis and is the same also the case for the Iraq Republican Guard ?

It looks from the coverage that it will be possible to design scenarios covering the Imperial Iranian Army in Oman and the various battles OF different Kurdish factions in Iraq as well.

Really looking forward to this one.

While the order of battles are quite detailed and thorough, I'm sure there are things that need to be tweaked/added/revised, so that will happen with future updates.

Thanks very much for the detail. As I happens I already have quite a lot of suitable image detail for the Iran Iraq was to make picture images of troops, planes, vehicles and other equipment.

Am I right in thinking that the "Unit Viewer" is not supported any more / has got too far out of alignment with the main game to get working again?

Alas, yes, the Unit Viewer is outdated unfortunately.

That being said, Crossroads did hint at potentially making a new one.

That would be helpful although not essential for further additions my my mod. The unit viewer was a better way to take it in systomaticly but making the images available in game is more important.
