In which screen does this happen exactly? Right after the Matrix launcher? In the game main menu or other menus? Or in the 3D view?

I have a similar problem. Upon starting the game from desktop it brings up the game menu. When i press play nothing happens, the game does not start. Tried reinstall, updated drivers, updated AB2, restarted computer etc. Nothing works. My computer is well above requirements to run the game properly.

Does the game freeze, or does it start at all? Do you have non-ASCII characters in your Windows user name?

Right after ive pressed "play" in the Matrix launcher, nothing happens. The game does not start at all.

Tried to change windows username to "Andre" instead of "ÄGARE" and reinstalled the game once again. That did not fix the issue, the same problem remains..

Yeah, I think Swedish Letters such as å,ä,ö are non-ASCII.

Can you check if changing your user name has not changed the name the user folder? Next patch should have the solution for that particular issue.

My username in the user folder has changed to "Andre", which should be fine.

My problem remains - after ive clicked "play" on launcher screen the settings screen is opened up. I press "play game" and then nothing happens except the settings screen shuts down.

What is the game installation folder?

What language do you have selected in Windows?

The known issues are caused by AMD, Intel Arc, graphics drivers, non-ASCII characters in the Documents directory path, and the Windows language settings. The directory path character issue will have a fix in the next update, but in your case I would need more information to have a solution. Your graphics card should be fine for running the game.

The error.log is in Documents\My Games\Armored Brigade 2, but if the game crashes without any text on screen then there probably won't be anything in the file.

That's for the Matrix launcher. I compared it to my log when I start the game successfully, and they have the same lines written in the end.

I still suspect that it's related to the Ä character. The patch should be out this month.

So finally i got it to work. It was after all related to the Ä-character as you said. Took me awhile to figure out how to properly change the name of the user.

Thank you alot for the help!

The game installation path is not the same as the Documents folder path.

I have a similar problem, installed the game yesterday, get to the settings window, when I put it on full screen and press start game, the window pops up as white and closes, if I dont put it fullscreen, not even a window pops up. I changed by language to english and reinstalled it multiple times, never get to the game itself. Directories aside from users being kayttajat in finnish by default with Ä letters, that cant be changed don't have non-ASCII characters.

If you mean 'users' being 'käyttäjät' on your Windows system, that's still a part of the Documents folder path.

The aforementioned patch is ready and its release has been scheduled by Slitherine to be very soon. Hopefully it will fix this issue, because now all folder names the game uses have UTF-16 support.
