I already noticed the limitation of land units warfare in some scenario editing I'm working on. It's OK since the game isn't met to be a tactical land wargame, and the way land units are made as facilies and mounts/weapons limit their resilience.
I just wanted to have others point of view just to be sure it's not my game that is somehow broken and need a full reinstallation.
I just started the Falkand DLC campaign and I have some issues with special forces land units, by example in "Pebble Island Raid" (see attached saved game).
In this save or in other scenarios involving land units I had some weird issues :
1) Not to mention that as they work, no matter they are elite units, SAS SEAL, etc... they die very quickly in the first engagement. In this scenario if you shoot a unit near the field, concentrated fire come from everywhere from guard towers and unseen units. Like a rabbit in a car lights.
1) Sometimes, when manually ordered to move by F3, special forces stop moving, even if you try to manually reset/plot the path and speed. They keep speed at zero and that's it ! As if they were out of fuel for pedestrian units
2) In this save I tried some manual attacks on guard towers or barracks, using the C4 weapon of special forces. I can select C4, point a target out of range of the unit and when I click BOOM no more target and the unit is fully and instantly destroyed ! Even unmovable units far from visual range were able to C4 an airfield target and be vaporized in the process ???
3) So I guess that land units are better suited for "storyline/event" purpose like do a cargo and drop X units at Y landing zone that will trigger some events...
