On this specific battalion:
Leader bonuses do not appear on battalion if you start the attack with units 4 or/and 5.

Two leader bonuses with OHQ (normal behavior) regardless of its appearance in the attack and the number of units already participating.

The 4LI battalion gave me 2 leader bonuses when it doesn't have an OHQ attached.
By attaching an OHQ to it, its units give 0 bonuses unless I add the OHQ to the attack.

I'll try this one too...

Seeing those number appear and disappear like that is a little unpleasant, agreed. But it's just an estimation process.

As you may know, in SE, the estimating of a battle is very different from the actual combat. It is highly approximate. The estimate needs to be 'interpreted'.

I flip through basically all the possible unit combinations in the estimating screen before making a final selection and committing to an attack. I also use "tactical save-games" (sometimes) to test that my estimation of the 'sample of estimates' was not totally off, and to develop a better idea of what the estimate screen is telling me and not telling me. If that makes sense.

So, to me, seeing skill modifier numbers jumping around like that is shocking, because I hadn't noticed those exact shifts before. But it is not necessarily broken, imo.

I am mostly sure that the order in which units are selected in an attack does not affect combat outcome. :geek:

This behavior bug was introduced in this version (k2) and did not exist before.
