AVRE 290mm Petard

Post by Gunner98 »

How long does the Petard take to reload? Is there anything I need to do to enable it?

I've got 2x AVREs, both have fired one round each but they don't seem to reload and the gun is grayed out on the damage tab (not damaged or destroyed). I've got one of them opened up and the other closed down but that doesn't seem to make a difference, its been several minutes and they are not being fired upon.

Thanks.

Normally, it takes 4 minutes. It may vary best upon crew experience, but I've never tested that.

There is a bit of a trick with the Petard, you need to have an engineer team loaded on the vehicle, as seen in the screenshot, if you click on the engineer icon you should see the radio operator is shown as 'reloading', if the weapon needs it. The HQ AVRE doesn't start with a breach team loaded, but the others should, you can tell by looking at the unit card and you should see 6 green circles.

If you don't have a team onboard, the Petard will never be reloaded.

OK—that's why. Thank you. I unloaded the engineers because I wanted to use them and their satchel charges. Lesson learned. Thanks for the response.

@OldSarge covered the vehicle specific points. I'll just add that greyed out sub-systems means it is unavailable. Typically, for weapons, it means it is reloading but could also be out of ammo.
