AI assist query

Post by cato13 »

Hello,

New player here, I've played WITE1 and WITW so I have some experience with these games.

I'm attempting the grand campaign as Germany with the AI air assist option off at game start.

I have all my air hq's set with appropriate stances, will my AOG's advance automatically or is there anything else I need to do. For example do I still need to press the AI air assist button or move the hq boxes using the shift key?

Yes, if you want the AI assist to activate and take action, you need to press the Activate AI Assist button, usually once at the end of the air planning phase and once at the end of the movement phase. By not having the game option turned on, you prevent the automatic pressing of the button twice per turn as you end each phase. This "manual" mode allows you added flexibility, but requires you to manually activate the AI air assist. The added flexibility means you can adjust the AOG settings, then press the button, and then go in and adjust a specific air directive and know that it will not be changed by the AI air assist (which would happen if you pressed the Activate AI assist button or if you had the Automate game option turned on, as the activation wipes out any prior ADs).
All understanding comes after the fact.

Ok good to know. I've been watching lots of tutorial videos and working through the manual but just like the previous games I feel the learning will never stop. :)
