Message configuration definitions.

Post by thewood1 »

Is there a detailed definition of what messages go into each category? I have to do a lot of experimentation to figure even the most basic ones out.

No complete explanation that I know. Most I think are self explanatory. Couple I think might be worth explaining.

1) Weapon Damage - Reports damage to a unit after a weapon hits it.

2) Weapon Endgame Calculation - Displays the modifiers and the final dice roll after modifiers that determine why your weapon hit or missed the target. As applicable - unit proficiency, agility, angle of intercept, etc.

3) Weapon Logic - I think these are the messages like the weapon petered out, missed the target by X distance, etc.

4) Unit AI Emergency - Example, aircraft diverting due to fuel, etc. messages.

Is there a specific category you were looking for more detail on?

It was AI emergency I was most curious about. But every now and then, I have to play around with the message box config to see why I never got a notification.

Edit: Another one that has been beyond me figuring out is Doctrine and ROE.
