Looking to buy new US Civil War game

Bought & played the SC-US Civil War game.
Bottom line, the Virginia campaign is just too WW1 for me.
Western theater and Naval, is playable for fun, could live with that.
Something goofy with the map. Too big maybe.
SC game engine doesn't fit

Looking to buy something new:

2-player
PBEM friendly
Don't need to be a lawyer to play & learn rules

Despite be two decades old, heard Forge of Freedome is decent beer/pretzel?

Try it or the two Ageod Civil War games.

I've got em but as usual have too many games and not enough time to learn to play properly.

I like maps and for me the first Ageod game AACW has the nicest map,

Seeing that I just pay $90 to fill my truck with gas about every 4th day, cost of a game is nothing.

So you could get all three for one tankful, which is not a bad philosophy.
I tend to think in terms of the number of beers a price represents.
Unfortunately today I had to fill up at a place 7p more than usual - 70 litres = 1 beer lost because I hadn't planned ahead !

Forge of Freedom has a 252 page manual.
Game is 18 years old, must be good to still have sales.
No wonder I get addicted to games and don't want to switch.
Learning curve is a bitch.

Well I can always tell about -young idealist tale- undermine Sultan but successful about creating a rebuplic. But unfortunately resulted huge failure.For a luck for Americans thre is more in SC is the best so far about American revolution, perhaps JTS games.
