This scenario is played from the Soviet point of view in Europe.

SITUATION

In a desperate scramble, US and Canadian forces are rigging temporary Gap Filler Radar Sites to restore some semblance of detection capability.

In the Mid-Atlantic, a formidable French naval group, bolstered by a US cruiser and its escorts, is en route to South America. They have amassed a convoy of threatened merchant ships and are now escorting them to the safety of Ponta Delgada in the Azores. Nearby Portuguese warships have also joined the convoy, providing additional escort and protection.
Throughout this escalating conflict, the Red Banner Fleet has deployed warships and submarines worldwide. Their aggression has intensified, with frequent interceptions of merchant ships. Immediate action is imperative to maintain the vital naval supply lines.
