Ultimate CMO Build- Questions for Dev team

Post by kahta »

I'm pricing out building the perfect CMO setup from the ground up, including the desk/case and the display.

Do you have any suggestions on which specs or components will have the most computational benefit to CMO?

Which high end CPU features are most important? Cache? Number of cores? What are your thoughts on Ryzen 9 9950x3d vs Intel 14900?

Is there any benefit to DDR5?

Would a touchscreen display like this have any benefit?

Might be worth taking a look at the benchmarking scores and correlate that to the CPU specs.

CMO/CPE is first and foremost a CPU-hungry beast. In most commercial games it makes sense to compromise on the CPU in order to get a more powerful GPU, since the latter is usually the bottleneck. In CMO it is the other way around. (This trips up a lot of new players).

This thread has some value for CPU comparisons: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 1&t=389870
The benchmark scenario is not a very balanced representation of gameplay flow (it is a rather extreme example of an engagement sequence), but it's useful as a worst-case stress test.

get Ryzen 9 9950x3d

or if money not an issue wait a little bit for upcoming
https://videocardz.com/topics/cpus/amd- ... ipper-9000
which have bigger core count than 16 cores(32 48 56 96 128 variants upcoming)
and variants with/without extra cache

CMO benefits from core count(with high freq)

i'd say CMO directly correlates with this table below:
You can check score (higher better)==More CMO performance
https://hwbot.org/benchmarks/cinebench_ ... geSize=500

Thanks, unfortunately this CPU alone costs as much as I was planning on spending on the build
