US Mech inf Dragon ATGM

Post by Tcao »

Have this thought long time ago.

right now the Dragon ATGM is split as a team away from the squad. A Mech Inf plt only have 1 Dragon. (Note that in editor some of the Mech Inf formation don't have Dragon ATGM at all)

Shouldn't be the Dragon ATGM added into the US Mech Inf squad?

Some will and some won't, depending on the year and types of formations. If you think a given formation should, please note it, and we can take a look.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!

Oh, no, no, NO!

OK, deep breath.

That just isn't how you do it. The sector of fire for a Dragon is NOT the same as that of the rest of the squad. Recognizing that, we split it off so if the rifle squad gets targeted, the Dragon is excluded. Likewise, if the Dragon fires and triggers return fire, the rifle squad isn't targeted.

Speaking as a former mech inf squad leader and former anti-armor section leader (6 x Dragon teams in a rifle company), the Dragons are never co-located with rifle squads. OK, maybe if the squad is in a 50 meter wide canyon, but i will be looking for a much better firing position for the Dragon.
