Defending Leningrad

Post by ncc1701e »

Hi there,

I am considering building some fortifications around Leningrad but I am still puzzled where to put them.
Any advices please?

Thanks

Hi, what turn are you up to, how far is the enemy from Leningrad and what are your forces like around there?

In a multiplayer game, you shouldn't need to fortify Leningrad. If the enemy has made it that far it's probably best to abandon or you'll lose a lot of units from isolation.

The main defensive line that most soviets try and hold is the "luga line" further south from your screenshot. there is plenty of heavy forest hexes that make for good defensive terrain.

Thanks, I am at end of turn number 2. This is indeed a PBEM. A first German unit is just south of Pskov.

After three years, still having a hard time to find the right formula. This is funny. I am usually creating forts in the marshes behind the Luga river. Sometimes it works, sometimes...

I am curious. Where are you putting your forts? If, of course, you are putting forts. :D
