Damaged Aircraft

Hi all, I've been a long time player of this game since about 2001. A big fan. As I've gotten older I've tried to get deeper into the nuts and bolts to understand how things work. So one thing I'm wondering, in BtR do Axis aircraft when damaged in the air or on the ground expend aircraft parts or engines? I'm trying along playthrough where I'm trying to cripple engine production so knowing would help me get a better handle on if I'm making headway. Thank you in advance.

No, contrary to what the manual suggests, there is nothing that a player can do to impact repair rates of aircraft except airfield service damage and overstacking on airfield slows down repair rate.
