Post here to meet players for PBEM games and generally engage in ribbing and banter about your prowess.

Old Timer looking to learn new tricks!! (closed)

Post by Mike McCreery »

Before they merged boards my name was Wargamr and I posted several playthroughs on the board a very long time ago.

I have played the game for a very long time. Played against greats like Mr. Kane, NJP, Lowpe and many others. My side has always been the allies. It is hard to get a game to go the distance when playing the allies for many reasons. I am currently in a game as the Allies in September of 1942 and it has cooled off due to a "battle of Midway" confrontation in May of 1942.

My experience with the Japanese side of the game is extremely limited and I have never played beyond the first month. However, I am interested in once again girding my loins for war, a very long war...

Looking for an Allied opponent for a long term game, scenario 1 or preferably 2. Mistakes will be made, probably functionally crippling mistakes. However, I intend to play the game until the victory conditions are met and/or the Allied player does not wish to continue. My focus and interest in this play through is in all the grindy detail in trying to stem the allied tide of battle later in the game. Can I hold out until 1945???

Preferences: Single day turns, no 4e bombing below 10K. I dont have many requests for the game, I am flexible to other HR requests.

Due to my inexperience with the Japanese side the start of the game will go slowly but my intention would be the ability to do 1 turn per day on average (after the first week or two) with exceptions for life events of course.

My enjoyment of the game comes from the planning and seeing events unfold and I look at it more as a hobby than a competitive game. We have all seen the ending of this 'movie', the journey is the interesting part.

The board seems a bit quiet so if you have any interest and/or have questions please email me at mike.mccreery@gmail.com
