Cannot remove minefields

Post by Mgellis »

I posted this scenario with another thread, but it occurred to me it might be an entirely separate issue, so I'll post it again here.

Basically, the issue is what the thread title says...I can create minefields, but I cannot remove them using the menu command. (Minesweeping using a ship seems to work all right.) I don't know if I'm just doing something wrong or if there is a bug in the most recent version, but I've attached a save file.

Thanks for taking a look at this.

Hi Mgellis

You have to start the scen after you remove the mines, then they will disappear.
It´s been like that for some time now, but I don´t know for how long (or why).

There several actions that don't happen until you hit start. I assume the engine can't process the action until it actually starts running. I used to have a list of those when I was building scenarios but lost it around the time CMO came out.

But my philosophy in scenario building is if some action isn't happening, hit start and see if it works.

I got it to work, but it must have had some other error I couldn't figure out. At first, even starting the scenario did not do anything to the minefield. I eventually removed the side that had the minefield, which eliminated it. Having added the side again, I can add or remove minefields normally, as you said, by starting the scenario. Thanks.
