Possible Mines Glitch Report

Post by MisterMuffles »

Just found out neutral countries can set off naval mines. Playing unmodded Call to Arms in multiplayer, turn one UK is still neutral. One of their ships sailed over a naval mine and set it off, suffering damage as normal. I confirmed that normal Austrian naval units still cannot attack them. I don't know if this is intentional or not: on the one hand it's not like real minefields distinguish between nationality, but on the other hand this might not be intended behavior. Figured I'd report it here just in case.

Also, if it is intended, it opens some amusing possibilities. I have no idea if this is meaningfully exploitable, but off the top of my head the Entente could burn early USA income to deploy a torpedo boat that can minesweep for Allied fleets while neutrality protects it from being killed by warships.
