Weapon Test

Post by kritter »

I was checking on how to use WRA and I seem to have found a problem. I do not know if I have it set up wrong or it is a bug. In this test I fire a lot of missiles at a ship and have it defend with lasers. I have set the lasers to fire at max range but they do not automatically. However If I select the missiles manually the lasers will fire out to max range. It looks like in auto they only fire at about half range.

It's working as designed.

You're running into a line of sight issue. These inbound missiles are flying 30 ft ASL. If they were flying higher, they would be detectable further out and therefore engageable sooner.

If that were true when you selected them manually the effect would be the same. But it is not and the lasers engage earlier and faster. Select all the missiles even the ones out of range manually, then watch what happens.

Did you check the WRA for automatic weapon engagement range? Seems likely to be the issue.

Right... still a question then. Let us know if you figure it.
